Obituary
Funeral service for Jimmy Meares, Sr. , 78, will be Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Crawford officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Meares died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born April 22, 1944, in Morgan County, to Jody Meares and Estelle Chamblis Meares.
He was employed by Decatur Utilities for the Waste-Water Treatment Plant, as an Operator, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and light piano music.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers: Lom, Louie, Gary and Wayne Meares, sisters: Martha Miller, Linda Peterson and Edith Terry and a son-in-law: Fred Mullins.

Daughter - Connie Renea Mullins
Son - Brian Dewayne Meares (Brenda)

Lellyan Cole,
Connie Burgant (Wendell),
Brenda Blankenship (Billy Tom) and
Vicky Whinsenant (Keith)
Twelve Grandchildren
Eighteen Great Grandchildren
