In 1942, August 25th, Zora Kathleen Kirby (Lindberg) was born. Zora better known as “Kitty” grew up in the lovely mountains of Ashville, North Carolina with her brother Louis “Evan” (deceased) and sister Jamie Ellen Kirby. She attended Lee Edwards High School where she met her friend, soul-mate, and partner for life William Roy Lindberg while they played together in the high school band.

After graduating high school in 1960, Kitty attended nursing school at Grady’s Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Atlanta, Georgia graduating in 1963 as a Registered Nurse (RN). Roy and Kitty married on February 14, 1964 where life together of 59 years started their many adventures and memories that are now passed down to their children Katrina Anne Lindberg Justice and Christopher Roy Lindberg.

Kitty began her adventures with Roy as a devoted mother and Army Officer’s wife where they moved many times. One move was to Germany right after Chris was born where she entertained and traveled different parts of Europe. After many years of supporting her husband, Kitty began her service as a labor and delivery nurse at Miami Hospital in Florida then a director of the neo-natal unit at Gainesville University Hospital while Roy was attending the University of Florida to become a metallurgic engineer. After years of nursing, Kitty started in her philanthropic endeavors as a director of the Gruff Campaign for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) where she met her best friend Mareen Finks who was diagnosed with MS.

Once Roy graduated from the University, they moved to Decatur, Alabama where Kitty volunteered at Sav-a-life for many years, and with the support of her husband, she eventually became the director of the Decatur branch. After retiring, Kitty began her adventures as an author with her son Chris where they published two books. For research, Kitty along with her husband traveled the US and abroad where they got to see this glorious world the Lord made. During this new adventure, Kitty and Roy’s family expanded with a son-in-law David Scott Justice and daughter-in-law Joanna Goe Lindberg. Between Katrina and Chris, Kitty and Roy were blessed with nine grandchildren and 4 grandchildren through marriage and one grandchild through an upcoming marriage. Their grandchildren are Jonathan Justice & wife Michelle Justice, Kara Justice Crawford & husband Lonnie Crawford, Angelica Justice Decker & husband Justus Decker, Samuel Justice & wife Dakota Justice, Caleb Lindberg & fiance Abigail Tate, Lauren Lindberg, Jadyn Lindberg, Benjamin Lindberg, and Kenise Lindberg. After Roy’s death Kitty was blessed with two great-grandchildren Michaela Anne Justice and Ashton Nicholas Decker.

One of Kitty and Roy’s blessings to their children was to take them, their spouses and nine grandchildren on a catamaran trip through the British Virgin Islands. Kitty's greatest delight was praising her Lord, being loved and loving her family and serving the Lord through many avenues from nursing, philanthropy and writing. She and Roy have left such a legacy and memories for their love of the Lord, their devotion and commitment to one another, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, friends, and those who came across their path. Kitty’s had such a sweet spirit which was continually commented to Chris and Katrina until she passed and went to see her greatest love Jesus and second love her husband Roy. Katrina and Chris' desire is for those wonderful traits to continue through their spirit and memories of her love.
