Obituary

Wesley "Wes" L. Carlisle, 68, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away at his residence on November 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, and raised in Decatur, Alabama, Wes graduated from Austin High School in 1975. He was a standout pitcher throughout his youth, playing for both Dixie Youth Baseball and Austin High School. After graduating, he moved to Missouri, where he worked for 15 years as a production operator. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Pam.

In 1993, Wes returned to Alabama with his wife and embarked on a long and respected career in home inspection for 17 years and was an ASHI-accredited Inspector, serving for many years as President of the Alabama Chapter of ASHI. His leadership and attention to detail earned him the respect of his peers across the state. He later worked for 12 years as a Commercial Pest Control Service Technician in the Madison area. He built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers and earned the prestigious Presidents Club Award multiple years in a row—a testament to his dedication and work ethic.

Outside of his professional life, Wes was happiest being outdoors. An avid deer hunter, he found peace and joy in the woods, especially during deer season. He was a proud and active member of the 8 Point Hunting Club in south-west Alabama, where he served as Chairman of the Maintenance Committee and managed the club's work-weekend schedule. Ensuring things ran smoothly for his fellow hunting buddies was a role he cherished.

Wes was a devoted husband to his wife of 38 years, Pam Carlisle. Together, they enjoyed beach trips, camping, sailing their sailboat, and spending quality time with family and friends. His family was his heart.

Wes is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Carlisle; stepdaughter Shelly Meierarend (Scott) of Sugar Hill, Georgia; stepson Brian Rasperger (Brandi) of Sharpsburg, Georgia; and four cherished grandchildren: Ayden and Annabella Meierarend, and Evan and Logan Rasperger. He is also survived by his sister, Wendy Carlisle Adams (Chris) of Pelham; nephew Andrew Wade Carlisle (Stephanie) of Hoover; and great-niece and nephew, Lola and Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Margaret Carlisle; his brother, William W. "Bill" Carlisle; and his sister, Donna Matherly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Hartselle First Assembly of God, 2222 Hwy 31 NW, Hartselle, AL 35640. A private burial will be at Marvins Chapel Cemetery in Pinson, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to honor Wes by spending time in nature with their loved ones—one of his favorite places to be.
