Tommy Lee
Gibson
Oct 28, 1988 — Oct 22, 2026
Phenix City, AL
Tommy Lee Gibson, 37, died on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at UAB Hospital. He was born October 28, 1988, to Randall Craig Gibson and Marla Jo Russell.
Tommy Lee Gibson, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and proud U.S. Army veteran, passed away this week. He was a skilled welder by trade and, more importantly, a steadfast presence for the family and friends who loved him.
Born to Randall Gibson, who precedes him in death, and Marla Russell, Tommy grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of duty. That same commitment led him to serve a term in the United States Army, where he carried the values of honor and service that would define his life.
After his military service, Tommy built his career as a welder. He took pride in honest work, steady hands, and the satisfaction of building things that last. Friends and coworkers knew him as dependable, quick with a story, and always willing to lend a hand.
Tommy’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tiffani Gibson, and their son, Oliver Anthony Gibson, who was the light of his life. He leaves behind his mother, Marla Russell; his mother-in-law, Pam Hightower, and her mother Betty Hightower, his uncle Steven Gibson and his wife Delaine Gibson ; brother, Travis Gibson, and sister-in-law, Lauren Gibson; sister, Haylie Gibson, and her fiancé, Logan Wiliford, his sister in law Christi Blankenship and her husband Travis Blankenship He was a proud uncle to nephews Kason Gibson, Kayler Gibson, and Tanner Blankenship, all of whom looked up to him.
He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Russell.
Tommy will be remembered for his loyalty, his quiet strength, and the love he poured into his family. Whether he was in the shop, at the dinner table, or watching his son grow, he gave his all.
Service details will be shared by the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Tommy’s memory by spending time with your loved ones and helping a neighbor in need — two things he did without hesitation.
Rest easy, Tommy. You served your country, loved your family, and left your mark.
