Funeral service for Thomas Jerry Chappell, 80, will be Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Harvel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.    Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Chappell passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  He was born June 22, 1945, in Morgan County, to James Wesley Chappell, Sr. and Beulah Mae Taylor Chappell.

He was employed by 3M Company, as a Film Processor, prior to his retirement. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Ree Chappell, his parents, and a brother- James Wesley Chappell, Jr.

Survivors include

Sons - David Chappell (Angela), and
- Kris Chappell (Bethany),

Daughter - Kenya Smith (James),

Grandchildren - Carman McCrary, Hunter Childers, Dylan Smith, Jaelin Chappell, Brody Smith, Mason Chappell , and Stella Chappell.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Smith, Brody Smith, Mason Chappell, Hunter Childers, David Chappell, Kris Chappell.

Honorary Pallbearer will be James Smith.
