A memorial service for Stephen Ray Parsons, 74, will be Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.

Mr. Parsons died on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Cullman Regional Medical CTR-Hartselle Health Park FED.  He was born January 1, 1951, in Jefferson County to Paul Parsons and Edna Pauline Hamrick Parsons.  Mr. Parsons was preceded in death by his parents and s grandson, Zachary Wayne Owens.

Stephen attended the Somerville Church of God and he loved camping and traveling. Mr. Parsons was a police officer for the state of Alabama and was a truck driver for Parsons Trucking, Inc., prior to his retirement.

Survivors include:

Wife - Betty Carolyn Atkins Parsons

Two Sons - Mark Wayne Owens and Billy Owens (Leigh)

Brother - Larry Parsons

Sister - Rebecca Pace (Harold)

Three Grandchildren: Misty Owens, Megan Owens and Sydney Owens

Five Great-Grandchildren
