Funeral service for Sue Reaves, 86, will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Campbell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  Inurnment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reaves passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at her residence.  She was born October 30, 1938, in Talladega County,  to James Thomas Nelson and Ada Ruthie Bradley Nelson.

She was a homemaker for her family. She loved her fur-baby: Tinkerbell, and going to church. She also enjoyed gardening her blueberries, working outdoors in her flowerbeds, swimming, bowling, dancing, walking, and water aerobics.

She was a graduate of Randolph County High School, where she was involved in Varsity Cheerleading for 5 years and then after graduation married Wylie Reaves. Together they raised their 4 children who were successful college graduates. After raising her children, she continued her education by attending Cosmetology school.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 66 years, Jesse Wylie Reaves, her parents and 10 siblings.

Survivors include

Daughter - Mitzi Reed (Jimmy), and
Teresa DePaula (Joe),

Sons - Michael Reaves (Tamara), and
Sanford Reaves (Michele),

Five Grandchildren -  Derrick Reaves, Danielle Peaks,
Victoria Elliott, Jennifer Reaves, and Mallory Martin.

The family wishes to add a sincere thanks to Hospice of the Valley and to Stella's neighbors, Jim and Monica Doherty, and Corey and Mel Such Bischke for their support and help during this time.

In  lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
