Obituary

Funeral service for Ronald Thurman Brown, 78, will be Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery of Athens . Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1946, in Lauderdale County, to Thurman Elias Brown and Sarah Clanton Brown.

Ronald was born in Florence, Alabama and graduated from Decatur High School in 1964. He met Carolyn in Decatur in 1995, and they united in marriage in June of 1997. Ronald was a general contractor and owned several businesses and properties. He drew the blueprints and built his own home.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Thurman and Sarah and one son- Ronald Todd Brown.

Survivors include:

Wife - Carolyn Stewart Brown

Daughters- Shelley McAfee (Jeff)
Amanda Lee (Jerry)
Ashley Gonzalez (Jose) and
Antheia Simmons (Lee)

Son- Max Meadows (Patti)

Brother - Mark Brown

Sister - Kay Meadows

Nine Grandchildren -
Landon, Lauren, Jonathan,
Zoey, Chase, Emily, Olivia,
Ian and MeKenzie.

Four Great Grandchildren -
Tristyn, Hayden, Paisley, and Parker

His four beloved grand-dogs:
Wicket, Charlie, Ellie and Willa

and a beloved friend and now a part of his family:
Kenni Jo Shaneyfelt.

Pallbearers will be John Barber, Steven Brown, Cameron Brown, Jeff Smithson, Roy Griffith, and Jose Gonzalez.
