A Memorial Funeral service for Rex Eugene Schrock, 69, will be Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No Visitation is scheduled.

Rex Eugene Schrock, age 69, passed away on June 10, 2025. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran and devoted family man, Rex lived a life marked by service, craftsmanship, and deep love for those around him.

Born on March 3, 1956, in Idaho, to Ralph Edward Schrock and Ellen Ruth Grant Schrock. Rex dedicated nearly two decades to his country, retiring in 1995 as 'a Technical Sergeant. As a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Craftsman, he worked on both the F-16 and F-4 aircraft, demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline, and integrity throughout . his military career..

After his service, Rex began a new chapter as a city bus driver in Rena, Nevada, where he was admired not just for his precision and professionalism behind the wheel, but for his kind spirit. From 2007 to 2010, he was honored each year with the Grand Champion and in 2010 won The Best of Transit award. Rex proudly represented Nevada at the national level in transit competitions all four years.

In 2022, Rex relocated to Decatur, Alabama with his wife Carol, to be closer to his
daughters and grandchildren, who were the Center of his world. He cherished every moment spent with his family, Whether sharing stories, teaching skills, or simply enjoying their presence.

Rex was also a talented woodworker .who found joy in creating beautiful, handmade items. His works were often seen at Local craft fairs and Lowe Mill in Huntsville. More than a hobby, his woodworking was an extension Of his generosity-he frequently donated memorial pieces, birdhouses, and other handcrafted items to provide comfort or brighten someone's day.

Those who knew Rex will remember his warm smile, goofy humor, and the way he touched lives through both service and kindness.

He leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and a legacy built not only from wood and hard work, but from love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to others.

He will be deeply missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters.

Survivors include his Wife - Carol Schrock, Daughters - Rhonda Schrock, and Rachel Schrock Hall (Joshua), Brothers - Joe Schrock, and Dan Schrock, Sisters- Nona Ballard, and Dannette Rasmussen, and Two Grandchildren - Amelia and Arend Hall.
