Memorial service for Regena Shadix Holmes age 78 of Eva will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel her family and friends officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until service time on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Regena, who was born August 6, 1948, in Cullman County to Walter “Cotton” Delone Shadix and Violet June Livingston Shadix, died on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at her home in Eva.

She grew up in the Gum Pond Community, attending Gum Pond School, then going to Eva School where she graduated in the class of 1966. During her working career, which was after raising her girls, she worked at the Wagon Wheel in Eva, worked for many years at Whitt’s Barbecue in Hartselle, then on to Eva Bank where she worked until retiring to take care of her grandchildren.

Regena loved her family and spent most her time attending all events possible that her girls and grandchildren were involved in. In her early life she really loved a good game of softball, her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed reading a good book and coloring.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; John L. Holmes.
