Funeral service for Rayburn Gilbert Johnson, 96, will be Monday, October 5, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Hayes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1930, in Morgan County, to Sam Gilbert Johnson and Grace Beatrice Jones Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a United States Army Veteran and a longtime active member of South Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He loved fishing and Braves Baseball, but had little time for either, because his work was his main focus. He was a charter member of the Greater Huntsville AWS (70 Years). He was a welding technician, and owned his own business. His last business was RJ's Tech Services, in which he repaired welding machines, wire feeders, and mig welding guns, until his passing.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Adean Wallace Johnson and his parents.

Survivors include

Son- Ray Johnson,

Daughter-in-law - Anne Johnson,

Granddaughter - Kris Johnson,

and Brothers- Boyd, Shelby, and Douglas Johnson

His family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Avenanna Hospice for their loving care for Rayburn.

In lieu of flowers- his family requests Memorial Donations be made to Tunnel to Towers foundation or your favorite charity.
