Funeral Service for Patrick Matkin, 94, will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Valhermoso Springs Cemetery, with Pastor Craye Hall officiating. He will lie in state from 9:30 Am until funeral time at the church. Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Matkin passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

He was born January 20, 1931 in Huntsville Alabama to Mr. William J. Matkin and Mrs. Theo Moore Matkin. Mr. Matkin was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked as a senior project engineer for the U.S. Army Strategic Defense Command, formerly the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems Command before his retirement.

Mr. Matkin was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Thomas Matkin, Daughter, Marcia Reidberger and Grandson, Paul Sparks.
