Funeral service for Patricia Burns Shumate, 79, will be Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnathan Todd officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shumate passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her residence. She was born September 4, 1945, in Morgan County, to Lloyd Leon Burns and Edith Eloise Jones Burns.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was born and raised in Hartselle, was a member of Forest Chapel Church, loved to travel, loved her flowers and sweets, and enjoyed the outdoors. Mrs. Shumate was employed by AT & T as a telephone operator, prior to her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents.

Survivors include:

Daughters- Amy Wright Belote (Mike) and
Susan Wright

Three Grandchildren - Justin LaShomb (Alicia),
Jessica LaShomb and
Jonathan LaShomb (Leah).

Longtime friend and companion - Larry Metzger

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
