Funeral service for Opal L. Wasson, 86, will be Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Virgil Crisp officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.    Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wasson passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  She was born December 28, 1939, in Morgan County,  to David Crockett Burns and Callie Jewel Irene Pate Burns.

She was a wonderful homemaker for her family, and a stay-at-home mom. She was loved by all that knew her.

Preceding her in death were her husband- Jack Wasson, her parents, and a daughter - Joy Anderton.

Survivors include

Daughter - Sharon Penrod (Mike),

Sister - Pauline Childers,

Grandchild - Keifer Fillmore (Katie),

Three Great Grandchildren - Damien Fillmore, Thomas Fillmore and Bert Fillmore.

Pallbearers will be Richard Childers, Randy Ball, Pat McCulloch, Mike Penrod, Damien Fillmore, and Rodney Childers.
