It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Ray Lemmond (Mike) at 3:30 AM on July 26, 2025. He was 78 years old.

A lifelong resident of Somerville, Morgan County, Mr. Lemmond was known for his dedication to his family, his work, and his passions. He retired after 36 years of service at Solutia in Decatur. Outside of his career, Mike found joy in farming, collecting, and working on his beloved International tractors, as well as restoring classic Chevrolet cars.

His son, David Lemmond (Tina)

His daughter, Tanya Lawrence

His brother, Brad Lemmond (Timothy)

His five grandchildren: Ashlei Lemmond, Katelyn Daugherty, Kelsi Lemmond, Jacee Waits, and Carly Lawrence

Five great-grandchildren, who brought him much joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Louis (JL) Lemmond and Iris Mae Lawrence Lemmond, and his son, Jerry Dewayne Lemmond.

A visitation will be held at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, Alabama, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The funeral service will follow in the chapel, with burial at Center Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Caleb Lindsey, Landon Terry, Daniel Pannell, Tracy Arnold, Chris Terry, and David Knox.

The service will be officiated by Brother Johnny Maxwell.

Mike will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, and his passion for the simple joys in life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
