Obituary

Born on January 9,1956, in Dunklin County, Missouri, Larry Wayne Brown lived his life with a strong personality, a quick sense of humor, and a love for doing things his own way.

Larry was a proud father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his children, Amy Copeland (Chris), Derrick Brown, and Danielle Brown (Robert); grandchildren, Drew Copeland (Makenzie), Lane Copeland (Lexi), Kady Brown, Jasper Birge, and Aubrey Birge; and great grandchildren, Cain Copeland and Riley Kate Copeland.

He is survived by his brother, Bobby Brown, and spent his life cherishing a fatherly bond with his Uncle Carl "Blondie" Brown. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Betty Copeland, and his siblings, Theresa Oden, Cynthia Brown, and Daryl Brown.

Larry spent his working years at Brown's Pine Straw. When he wasn't working, you could find him doing something he enjoyed -or something he shouldn't be doing. He loved fishing, playing bingo, sitting down for a game of Poker, and, according to his family lore, charming the ladies. He also enjoyed spending time at the Huddle House, where good food and good conversation, and a few jokes were always on the menu.

Larry was a man who lived life on his terms. He had his own way of doing things, his own stories to tell, and a personality that people were unlikely to forget. He leaves behind memories, stories , laughter, and a lifetime of moments that his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and extended family will carry with them.

Larry's life was not about being perfect- it was about being Larry. Anyone who knew him knows there was, and always will be, only one Larry Wayne Brown. He will be missed, remembered, talked about, and undoubtedly kept alive through the stories his family tells for years to come.

There will be a Memorial Service for Larry at Peck Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026. No visitation is scheduled. Peck Funeral Home is assisting the family.
