Larry Gene Thrasher

A Memorial service for Larry Gene Thrasher, 82, will be Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nathan Green officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Thrasher passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was born Monday, July 31, 1944, in Morgan County,  to Newton Columbus Thrasher, Sr. and Clara White Thrasher, who preceded him in death.

Larry was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War from 1963-1967, before his honorable discharge.  He was employed as a Draftsman and Detailer for North Alabama Fabricating, prior to his retirement.

He was an avid golfer, a huge Alabama fan, Loved the Lord and was a "Salt of the Earth " good man. Larry loved his family, especially his grandchildren and was excited about becoming a Great Grandfather in September.

He was a man of his word and lived by "Say what you mean and mean what you say".

Wife of 57 years- Brenda Chenault Thrasher,

Son - Blake Thrasher,

Daughter - Sloan Thrasher Brown (Ken),

Sister - Tony Louise Holloway,

Grandchildren -  Wyatt Smith (Kayla),
Walker Smith, and
Kayleigh Thrasher.
