Wayne was a pillar of the Cedar Cove Community, Falkville Community and of Mt. Zion Church. He touched many lives with his willingness to help other and his dedication to meet the needs of the community no matter the personal sacrifice.

After he retired, he had opened a saw sharpening shop in Cedar Cove, Wayne's Sharp All Shop, where all the grandkids loved to be with him and play around the shop.
