Funeral service for Larry Shepard, 69, will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 12:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Center Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church.

Mr. Shepard died on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  He was born February 11, 1957, in Ohio, to George Allen Shepard and Rita Marie Wallner Shepard.

He was employed by the United States Army, in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, prior to his retirement.  He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Peggy Shepard, his first wife- Patricia, a son- Danny Shepard, a grandchild- Katelynn Shepard, and brothers- David Shepard, Richard Shepard, Charles Shepard, and John Shepard.

Sister-in-law - Samantha Collins (Simeon Cole),

Nephew - Brandon Cole
