Funeral service for Kenny "KT" Thompson, 78, will be Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Speed and Bro. Spencer Bell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will lie in state at First Baptist Church of Hartselle from 12:00 PM until service time. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Kenny, "KT" entered Heaven on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. He was born Friday, July 11, 1947, in Alexander City, to Duel Thompson and Johnnie Lucille Wood Thompson, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Priceville High School. After graduation from college, he started his teaching career, teaching at Hartselle Jr. High, Neel Elementary School, Priceville, and Danville, prior to his retirement.
He married the love of his life, Revenia, in 1970, and they were married for 55 years.
He lived in Hartselle for 54 years, where he served proudly, on the City Council for 33 plus years. He loved this city and was always looking out for all the citizens.
He loved his job helping people get into their first Home. He started his own Company, "Ken Thompson Enterprises" and many homes in Hartselle were built by him.
His "happy place" was going to the beach at Gulf Shores. Many years of fun memories were made there.
Survivors include
his Wife - Revenia Hardin Thompson,
Son - Ashley Thompson,
Brother-in-law - Lynn Hardin (Beth),
Sister-in-law - Gail Garner (Paul),
and several Cousins.
Pallbearers will be Terry Wayne Carver, Tony Jones, Dwight Tankersley, Randy Garrison, Richard Greenhill, and Larry Fields.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Screws, Billy Don Sharp, John Griffin, and Mitch Owens, along with the Priceville High School Class of 1965.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a scholarship fund for future Educators. Memorial Donations may be made to any Peoples Bank in his name.
