Funeral service for Kathie Slate, 75, will be Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Milan Dekich officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Slate passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at her residence. She was born February 27, 1951, in Jefferson County, to Hubert V. Taylor and Imogene L. Butler Taylor.

She was the Owner of S & S Properties, prior to her passing. Kathie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lover of Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. Most of all, she loved the Lord and her family with everything she had.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and a brother-in-law: Jerry Slate, her father-in-law: Max Slate and a granddaughter: Josalyn Fay Parker.

Son - Jimmy W. Slate II,

Daughters- Jennifer McCullough and

Amy Thompson,

Sister - Linda Howell,

Eight Grandchildren- Makayla, Slate, Brodie Slate, Jon Slate, Mitch McCullough, Charlie McCulloch, Mason McCullough, Lucas Yates and Callie Parker.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Thompson, Jimmy W. Slate II, Lucas Yates, Brodie Slate, Daniel Henderson, and Patrick McCullough.
