Katherine Dodd

Dec 23, 1969 — Nov 2, 2026

Danville, AL

Katherine Dodd, known simply as Anne to all who spoke to and adored her, passed on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, in a tractor-related accident on the Dodd Farm established by herself and her late husband Kevin.

Anne was a fearless soul, an endlessly kind and worried mother, a patient and loving wife, and a friend to all. Had you met her in public she would speak about her son, her late husband, and introduced her to companion animal Daisy. Everyone was greeted with open arms, and an impact was left in any conversation with her, through her kind heart and willing hand.

Throughout night and day, she worked and worried to care for her animals, her son, her mother and stepfather, and an ever-growing list of friends. She could not be found inside rain-or-shine on weekdays, instead found feeding and petting her animals or sitting on her porch speaking to friends that came to visit. On weekends she could be found at Twin-Forks Camping Ground, on the water in her boat or on the shore with her Daisy.

Her loss is not only felt by her family, but by a large community of individuals she affected throughout her life. She is survived by her son Alexander “Bird” Resurreccion, mother and stepfather Katherine Sharp and Ricky Steele, her brother and his partner Wayne Sharp and Anna Rice, her horse Bucky, her dog Daisy, her Llama Love, her many other cats, dogs, horses, cows, bull, ducks, and 11 acres of land that she farmed proudly until her last day.

As Anne would say, it’s necessary to laugh so that we don’t cry.

You will be missed, mom. I love you. Please rest easy, and I promise I’ll make sure the animals are fed. I’ll save you all feathers, butterflies, and whatever crawly insects I can find.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 3 PM in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
