Joyce Carlotta Smith, 79, of Somerville passed away at her residence on February 13, 2026. Mrs. Smith was born on January 6, 1947 to James and Eula Dixon in Alabama. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanda Gail Townsend, and son Michael Anthony Smith.

Survivors Include

Son: Mitchell R. Smith Sr.

Two brothers: Andrew Luther Speed 2nd and Thomas Lee Speed.

Two sisters: Mary Lynn Jones and Donna Lorena Howard.

Two grandchildren: Hunter Wade Smith and Mitchell Riley Smith Jr.

Three great grandchildren: Winston Curtis Smith, Riley Madison Smith, and Dawson Wade Smith.
