Obituary

Jonathan Lee Stover, 42, of Decatur passed away January 11, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1982 in Guntersville to Melanie Martin Stover and the late Bruce Juan Stover. He was raised in Albertville where he was active in sports, playing football and baseball.

He had an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Snead State University and later attended Auburn University. He was a Shop Technician at White Oak Transportation company. He was preceded in death by his Father, Bruce Stover and Grandparents, Rev. C. L. and Virginia Hendrix Stover and Dr. Harry G. and Barbara Adams Martin.

Jonathan was a man who loved family, animals, children and Auburn football. His winning smile and infectious laugh made him a favorite at any gathering. He was passionate about carpentry and landscaping and worked in construction for years. He will long be remembered for his loving and generous heart. Those who knew Jonathan will miss his charisma, kindness and compassion.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Melanie Martin Stover; Sister, Lauren Stover Mays (Ben); Brother, Michael Stover (Mandy); Girlfriend, Alma Gutierrez; Nieces, Jenna Stover, Sarah Stover, Birdie Mays, Daisy Mays, and Goldie Mays; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
