A Celebration of Life service for Retired Master Sgt. John H. "Tommy" Wright, 84, will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 8:00 AM at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Tidwell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. A time of visitation will take place following the service.
Mr. Wright passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1941, in Morgan County, to William Howard Wright and Verna Thelma Hawkins Wright.
He was a Veteran from his service in the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a Condominium manager and a farmer. He traveled the world through his Air Force career, "Tommy", as he was affectionately known, could fix or build anything and was an accomplished woodworker. He was a true "Jack of all trades".
His famous saying was, "I can do everything except read, write and have babies".
Preceding him in death were his wife and mother of his four children, Joan Nunn Wright, a daughter- Barbara Wright Cooley, son-in-law- Dusty Carey, a grandson- Paul Steelreath, two brothers- Billy H. Wright and Tyson Wright, and two sisters- Gwennell Taylor and Greta Eady.

Daughters - Pamela Carey and
Celeste Ferenczi,
Brother - Calvin Wright,
Sister - Dean Couch (Bobby),
Eleven Grandchildren and
Fourteen Great Grandchildren
