A funeral service for John C. Jones will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00AM at Peck funeral home. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Herring cemetery. Mr. Jones was born on June 1, 1941, to Relda and Alice Jones in Winston County, Alabama. He passed away on April 14, 2026, at Decatur Morgan.

John C. Jones was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved to go hunting and travel in his R.V. Mr. Jones proudly served six years and was a Vietnam Veteran, of the United States Army and had the rank of SP-4. He was a Free Mason for over fifty years and a Master Mason of Lodge #721.  He was employed by General Electric in the Maintenance field, prior to his retirement.  John was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances Jones, parents, and his daughter Mary Alice Jones.

Daughter: Elizabeth A. Jones (Huntsville, AL)

Brother: William E. Jones (Warrior, AL)

Sister: Dorothy J. Wilkins (Hartselle, AL)

Three grandchildren: Jessi Gettelman, Katherine Jones, and Mikayla Nowatske

Great-grandchild: June Charlotte Nowatske

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
