Funeral service for John L. Jarrett, 83, will be Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Jarrett passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Decatur Health & Rehab Center.  He was born January 7, 1943, in Morgan County,  to J.L. Jarrett and Maggie Kathleen Naylor Jarrett.

He was employed by Coots Transportation as an O-T-R Truck Driver, prior to his retirement. He was a United States Navy Veteran and proudly served from 1961-1963. He was a member of the Penn Church of God, in Danville, AL.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers- James Jarrett and Ricky Jarrett, and two sisters- Barbara Brown and Joyce Ward.

Survivors include

Sons - Jeff Jarrett (Danell), and
Jonathan Naylor Jarrett (Moriah),

Daughter - Gina Jarrett Vest (Bryan),

Sister - Pat Griffith (Charles),

Six Grandchildren and

Three Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Shane Griffith, Dallas Griffith, Jeremy Jarrett, Josh Jarrett, Michael Brown, and Bobby Ward.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Pope, Johnny Burgess and Dr. John V. Irle
