In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Dad, Jeffrey Scott Mears.

September 18, 1955 – October 22, 2025

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved dad on October 22, 2025, at the age of 70.

Our dad was truly one of a kind. He had the biggest heart and a love for people that was impossible to measure. He was always willing to help anyone who needed him and never hesitated to put everyone else before himself. No matter what he was going through, he always made sure the people he loved were taken care of. He gave so much of himself to others, asking for very little in return.

He was an amazing father and was so incredibly proud of his children. His children were one of his greatest accomplishments and one of the biggest sources of joy in his life. He loved watching us grow, celebrating our accomplishments, and being there for us through every chapter of our lives.

Preceded in Death

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, JC and Annie Ruth Mears, and his brothers, Benjamin Mears, Joseph Mears, and Byron Mears and his daughter Rachel Mears.

Survived By

He leaves behind his loving daughters, Danielle Mears and Becky Mears Pittman, who will forever cherish his memory and carry his love in their hearts.

A Message From His Daughter Danielle

For me, my dad was so much more than my father. He was my favorite person in the entire world. He was my best friend, my safe place, and the person I could always count on.

My dad was always there for me, just as I was always there for him. We shared a bond that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I could talk to him about anything, and no matter what was happening, I knew I could turn to him. He understood me, loved me unconditionally, and never stopped being there when I needed him.

I will forever miss his FaceTime calls. I will miss seeing his face pop up on my phone, hearing his voice, and knowing that my dad just wanted to talk to me. Those little moments that once seemed so ordinary are now some of the moments I would give anything to have back.

I will miss his sense of humor and how incredibly quick he was with his comebacks. He always had something to say, and somehow he could make me laugh even when I didn’t feel like smiling. Those little things about him are now some of the memories I treasure the most.

Losing him has left a hole in my heart that I don’t know how to explain. When he passed away, it felt like a part of me went with him. It felt like I lost not only my dad, but my best friend and a piece of myself. There are moments when I still cannot believe that I have to live in a world where I cannot call him, hear his voice, see his face, or simply know that he is there.

I love my dad more than words could ever express, and I miss him every single day. I would give anything to have one more conversation with him, one more FaceTime call, one more hug, one more laugh, or just one more ordinary day together.

Dad, you were my favorite person in this world. You were my best friend, and I will forever be grateful that I got to call you my dad. I hope you knew how deeply you were loved and how much you meant to me.

I don’t know how to live in a world without you, but I promise to carry your love with me for the rest of my life. I will keep your memory alive and love you every day until we see each other again.

You spent your life taking care of everyone else. Now it is our turn to carry your love with us.

Your life mattered. Your love mattered. You mattered.

You were the best dad in the world, and no matter how many years pass, nothing will ever change that.

I love you, Dad. I miss your face, your voice, your laugh, your jokes, your quick comebacks, and especially those FaceTime calls. I miss everything about you. Until we meet again, you will forever be a part of me.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my dad.
