Mrs. Smith passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at her residence. She was born February 27, 1937, in New Jersey, to Paul Barnhart Embich and Frances Florence Boylan Embich.
Jeanette grew up in Tampa, Florida, where she met Felton Smith, from Courtland Alabama. He was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. They married in 1953, and moved back to Alabama, where she was a homemaker for her family. Together they raised two sons, Mickey and Randy.
Jeanette worked small jobs until their sons were older when she and Felton traveled across the country in their 18-wheeler. Later in life, they enjoyed camping at nearby campgrounds. They were never idle and she stayed busy doing crafts with her favorite being a Cross Bible bookmark. She made hundreds of them and shared with her family, friends and aquaintances, as well as cashiers, waiters and people she met standing in line.
Jeanette thrived on taking care of people and her garden, but mostly loved her family, her church family, and her friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Felton Smith, her parents, and a sister- Marjorie Colvin.
Special Thanks are extended to the Hospice of the Valley for the exceptional care for the past few months.
Survivors include
Sons- Mickey Smith (Lisa),
Randy Smith (Thu),
