Obituary

Funeral service for Jayne Anders Prater age 73 of Danville will be Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 4:00pm at Danville Baptist Church with Brother Joe David Bailey officiating with burial in the Friendship Cemetery at Danville with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 2:00pm until service time on Tuesday at the Church.

Mrs. Prater, who was born June 28, 1953, to John Nathan Anders and Faye McMillian Anders, died on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her residence.

Jayne was a member of Danville Baptist Church and was a beloved Mimi to her 10 grandchildren who she affectionately called her Darlings. She was a devoted wife to her husband Dewayne and the mother of Matt, Mitch, and Meg.

Survivors Include:

Husband of 55years, Dewayne Prater of Danville

2 Sons: Matt Prater & wife, Carrie Beth of Danville

Mitch Prater of Danville

1 Daughter: Meg Waldrop & husband, Adam of Hillsboro

Mother: Faye Anders of Hartselle

1 Sister: Ava McCullar of Hartselle

10 Grandchildren: Brodie, Ella Kate, Reagan, Lilly, Matthew, Addison, Camryn, Maci Jane,

Maggie Beth, and Seth

Brodie Waldrop, Matthew Tidwell, Bart Johnson, Drew Prater, Jonathan Weatherby, Zac Randolph, Marlon Cole, and Kurt Randolph will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Prater, Gregg Holladay, Ronnie Lewis, and Randy Hensley
