Funeral Service for James Robert Ward, 91 of Decatur will be Monday, June 2, 2025 at 2:00PM at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Danny Ward and Bro. Steton Hayes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00PM-2:00PM at the Church. James was born July 24, 1933 in Winston County, AL. to Robert Frank Ward and Essie Allen Ward. He passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Columbia Cottage Assisted Living.
James was an owner- operator truck driver for 40 Years. He was married for 61 years to Christene "Cricket" Sullins Ward until she passed away in 2018. . James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and loved Jesus and his family.
James was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Christene "Cricket" Sullins Ward, Daughter, Debra Ann Ward, Brother, Barney Ward.
