A Memorial service for James Payton, 53, will be Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hartselle Church of Christ with Justin Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home assisting the family. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Payton passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at his residence.  He was born August 23, 1972, in Georgia, to Jerry Leon Payton and Barbara Walker Payton.

He was employed by PepsiCo- Frito Lay, as a Merchandiser, prior to his passing. James was a wonderful husband and father, who loved to travel. He enjoyed revisiting his favorite spots such as Gatlinburg, TN, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Savannah, GA. He also loved cruising the Caribbean, too. His father preceded him in death.
