Funeral service for James L. Brown, 83, will be Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Dupuis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born September 21, 1942, in Jefferson County, to Coy Mets Brown and Lois Pauline Clifton Brown, who preceded him in death.

He was employed by Gordon Transport, as a driver, prior to his retirement and retired from ABF as well. He drove a truck for 35 years and never missed a day of work. James was a very loving and generous man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and repairing lawnmowers. He also was an Alabama fan.

Son - Chris Brown,

Daughter - Beth Brown Terry (Bob),

Grandchildren - Austen Terry,

Anthony Brown (Amanda), and

Mallory Terry Pirkle (Tim),

Great Grandchildren - Lillie Elizabeth Pirkle and

Addie Grace Pirkle.

Pallbearers will be Willard Roberts, Anthony Brown, Austen Terry, Rodney Bennit, Tim Pirkle, and JoJo Smith.
