Funeral service for James "Buddy" Barnett, 95, will be Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Somerville Historical Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Bro. Barnett passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025.  He was born August 22, 1929, in Morgan County,  to Zack Barnett and Gracie Key Barnett.

He was a Preacher of the Gospel for 32 years. Bro. Barnett loved the Lord and loved talking about Jesus. He started the Country Prayer Barn, in April of 1988 and was employed for 32 years, by Littrell Lumber Company, as a Truck Driver, prior to his retirement. He was a self-taught man, teaching himself to read and write. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. and loved to garden.

Preceding him in death were his wife- Bobbie Barnett, a son- Johnny Barnett, a daughter- Elizabeth Ann Marsh, a grandson- Adam Barnett and his parents.

Sons - Frankie Barnett and
Tommy Barnett (Donna),

Daughters - Kay Elkins,
Donna Pearson (Terry), and
Tammy Hampton,

Brother - Rabon Barnett,

Nineteen Grandchildren,

Twenty-eight Great Grandchildren, and

Fifteen Great Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Billy Phillips, Daniel Barnett, Don Holcomb, Jeremy Barnett, Nicholas Larimore, and Michael Barrows.
