Howell "Hal" Edward Cheatham passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his residence.  He was born December 6, 1937, in Lawrence County, to James Frank Cheatham and Ruby Mae Rodgers Cheatham.

He was employed by Georgia Highway Express, as a Truck Driver, prior to his retirement.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Wilma L. Cheatham, his parents, a brother- Roger Cheatham, and a sister Faye Waugh.

Survivors include:

Daughters - Deborah C. Ward (Larry), and
Lisa Cheatham,

Sons- Steven Cheatham (Sandy),
David Cheatham,
Phillip Cheatham,

Brother - Hoyt Cheatham (Joyce),

Brothers-in-law - Charles Waugh and Leo Maze (Yvonne)

Sisters-in-law - Vicki Cheatham, Betty McCarter and Bobbie Stinson.

Nine Grandchildren and

Eighteen Great Grandchildren

and a host of nieces and nephews.
