Houston Monroe Terry, age 30, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away on September 19, 2025.

He was born on December 22, 1994 in Decatur, Alabama to Shaun Terry Shelton and Scottie Gene Terry. Houston grew up in Hartselle, and graduated from Hartselle High School in 2013. He was a Plant Operator at Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Company, where he worked for 7 years and was known for his unending humor.

On October 30, 2021, he married his soulmate Breanna and together they shared almost 4 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father to Karrington Grace Terry; son to Marty and Shaun Terry Shelton, and friend to many. He found joy in his family, playing video games, and in his dogs. As a child, he wanted to be saved and his mother guided him in the salvation prayer and his longing for Christ's guidance in his life was made new again this year. This was evident to everyone in his life, and has given such peace and comfort. His laughter, love, and faith touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his cherished wife Breanna Terry, daughter Karrington Grace Terry, parents (the man he chose to call dad) Marty and Shaun (Terry) Shelton, aunt Susan Morrow, grandparents Cathy and Gordon Trowbridge, Mother-in-law Sonya Leonard, and sister-in-law Skylar Milligan (Clayton). He was preceded in death by his deeply loved grandfather Arthur Willard McDonald and great friend who he shared many memories with Joshua Ashley McLemore.

A service to honor his life will be held at East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 3:00PM with Bro. Greg Burnett, Jon Gerstman, and Bro. Dallas Culver officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1:30-2:30 at the Church.

His closest friends will be pallbearers: TJ Tice, Trey Fanning, Luke Hyde, Devon Jones, Clayton Milligan, and Arin Jones.

His family would like to extend a heart felt thank you first to Jesus for carrying us this far and the promise to carry us always. The Decatur Police Department officers for taking care of his mom as she unexpectedly came upon scene, then took care of our family and friends that gathered off scene. The department officers, chaplain, and county coroner were so kind and patient, and stayed with us until we exhausted all questions. Bethel Baptist Church and School for taking care of us, especially our little Karrington. East Highland Baptist Church of Hartselle for treating us like your family, even though we just recently began worshipping with you. To Trinity Methodist Church of Trinity for your love, prayers, and support. Peck Funeral Home, especially Mac Beard, has gone above and beyond to guide us and make sure we know they are here to help. To the multitude of families, friends, and even strangers that witnessed the wreck, your prayers and condolences have meant so much more than you could ever imagine.

Houston will be greatly missed by so many. Earthly life will never be the same without him, but we look forward to seeing him forever in heaven.
