Helen Marie Dimitro Garnett, 66, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Jackson County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Helen was born August 11, 1960, in Yonkers, N.Y., to the late Elizabeth “Betty” Postalwait, and Michael Dimitro.

Helen is survived by One daughter, Leigh Anne (Anthony) Burke of Peebles, OH., Two Grandsons, Two Granddaughters, Two Brothers, Louis Dimitro of Danville, AL., and Ken Dimitro of Murfreesboro, TN., and One Half Brother, Blair Dimitro of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and special friend, Kathy Tarnowski, of Jackson, MI.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Garnett, Two brothers, Wayne Dimitro, and Michael Dimitro Jr., and Two sisters, Michelle Byrom and Renee Copeland.

Helen will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her, and remembered for her honesty, quick wit, and sense of humor,

Graveside Funeral services will be held in Hartselle, AL on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with Peck Funeral Home assisting the family. No Visitation is scheduled. Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband in Herring Cemetery.
