Funeral service for Greg Mattox age 61 of Somerville, will be Friday, February 6, 2026, at 5:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Wendel officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is planned.

Mr. Mattox, who was born May 28, 1964, in Alexander City, Alabama, died on February 2, 2026, at his home. Greg was the former owner and operator of River City Auto Sales in Decatur. He loved cars and knew everything about cars and truly enjoyed working on them and being a salesman. He was a huge Alabama football fan, a grill master, enjoyed golf, being on the water, snow skiing, antiques, and listening to music. He was an accomplished musician and a good bass guitar player. Greg loved History, especially Civil War Era, but most of all, he loved family gatherings, storytelling and spending time with his son, Brodie.

Greg's motto was "We Do the Right Thing Because It's The Right Thing to Do"
