Funeral service for Gail Sandra Cagle, 78, will be Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Brown and Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cagle passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  She was born August 31, 1947, in Tennessee, to Elmer Bates and Thelma Blonde Howard Bates.

She was a homemaker, mother and wife above all, working in many customer service roles where she could be of service to others. She attended and was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church as well as a member of the VFW. Gail's love and faith in God made a huge impact on her family, helping to lead her sons, her husband and her grandchildren to Christ. After retirement, she loved to travel with her sister and see new places, which brought her much joy. She was always helping others in need and assisting in events for the Shriners, local police departments, veterans' affairs and other charities.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Jerry Wayne Cagle; her parents; and a brother, Gary Bates.

Survivors include: her sons - Heath Wayne Cagle (Stephanie), and Gregory Neal Cagle, her sister - Deborah Scott, and two grandchildren - Chase Alexander Barrett and Brayden Matthew Cagle.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
