Eddie Dale Wilson, 62, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2026.
Eddie was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Wilson; his nephew, Zach Wilson and Bethany Chambers of Athens; his uncles and aunts, Artie and Sondra Dutton of Hartselle, Pearl and Bill Stringer of Hartselle, Peggy Roberson of Hartselle and her late husband, Roy, Richard and Carolyn Dutton of Hartselle, and Linda Dutton of Decatur and her late husband, Jimmy; his stepson, Zac Flannagin Sr.; his step-grandchildren, Coltan Flannagin, Calaeb Flannagin, Zac Flannagin Jr., Crimson Flannagin, and Timothy Flannagin; his step-great-grandchildren, Lance Flannagin and Kameron Flannagin; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Eddie began serving at The Foundry Ministries in 2006, faithfully fulfilling a variety of roles before becoming Program Director at The Foundry Farm in 2014. He became the voice, face, and heart of The Foundry Farm in Cullman. Throughout the community, Eddie was known as someone who could always be counted on in times of need.
His deep compassion for those struggling with addiction, along with his passion for helping others, made him uniquely suited to guide thousands of men through recovery and toward a relationship with Jesus. He was far more than a director. Eddie was a spiritual shepherd, a voice of reason, a challenger, a motivator, and a trusted friend to the many participants he served at the Farm.
Eddie's faith was at the center of his life, and his personal walk with Christ was evident to everyone who knew him. He could often be heard encouraging the men he served to "do the next right thing." Eddie sought to live in such a way that, when he stood before the Lord, he would hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." His life bore abundant fruit through his love for God and his love for others.
Eddie was a devoted husband, a loyal family member, and a faithful friend. He will be deeply missed, but the example of faith, compassion, and service he leaves behind will continue to inspire all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Eddie Wilson Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Foundry Ministries at www.foundryministries.com. Donations will help provide scholarships for men seeking recovery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31st from 12:00-2:00, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm at The Foundry Farm Chapel.
575 County Road 1676, Cullman, AL 35058
