David Brian "Cotton" Grissom, 58, left this world on May 7, 2026, after a life of hard work and adventure. Born June 26, 1967, to Jim and Brenda, he graduated from Falkville High School in 1985. Brian then served in the United States Navy as a Hull Maintenance Technician aboard USS Canopus AS-34. Brian attended Calhoun Community College from 1991 to 1994, obtaining his degree in Electrical Maintenance. He married his wife, Luisa, in 2017. Mr. Grissom enjoyed traveling as well as watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals play ball. Brian cherished moments with family and any opportunity to teach and pass on any of the many skills he possessed. Mr. Grissom is preceded in his death by his father Jim Grissom. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Luisa; children, Patrick (Madison) and Ben (Emilee); two siblings, Ron and Amy (William); mother, Brenda; niece and nephew, Josie (Austin) and Dillan Luker and two grandchildren.

Graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00PM at the Somerville City Cemetery with Bro. Pearl Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Grissom, Ben Grissom, Ron Grissom, William Riley, Dillan Luker, and Austin Addison.
