Tim (Kim), Lisa (Kevin), and Greg announce the passing of their beloved mother Carol Crow Hankins, September 6th, 2026, in Fairhope, Alabama where she resided with her daughter’s family for the years during an extended illness. Born to Thomas and Eva Inez Taylor Crow on March 29, 1945, in Morgan County.

Carol had deep roots in Morgan County, Alabama. In her lifetime she was a member of New Friendship Baptist and Oak Forest Baptist Church.

Everyone loved for Carol to cook. For holidays or just any regular Sunday, especially Thanksgiving, a large crowd of loving family, cherished cousins, and loyal friends would gather to enjoy her feasts. Some of the favorite desserts were banana pudding, fried apple and peach pies, chocolate and lemon meringue pies and were demanded by all at family gatherings. The churned pickles and homemade vegetable soup she canned were agreed to be the best. No one could fry up fresh summer squash and okra quite like she could. The love she clearly showed for others in the dishes she prepared will be missed. Carol’s doting father, Thomas, was a farmer, and her love of gardening started at an early age. The canning of food, among other things, was learned from her precious mother, Eva Inez, and she shared a love of quilting with her adoring sister, Mary Ann.

Carol loved her protective brothers Dewitt, Bobby, and Billy, and she remained close to all of her siblings throughout their lives. There was a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews Teresa, Lonnie, Jeff, Beth, Cam, Darlene, Tommy, and Keith for their Aunt Carol. Carol’s grandchildren Shayne (Kayla), Alex (Ally), Ivy, Mitchell (Ally), Peyton, and Paxton will carry fond memories of their childhood spent on the farm. They will forever remember feeding the horses and the ducks in the pond, riding the four wheeler with their Papa Smurf, and having so much fun.

The mothers of Carol’s grandchildren, Kim, Par, and Kim, held her in high regard and loved her so. Her favorite son-in-law : Kevin helped care for her these past years so she could remain at home. The absolute joy of her life were the great grands Greyson, Tucker, Madden, Melody and James.

Burial will be private and a public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
