Obituary

Mr. Brooks Franklin Owens passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home with Mr. Tony Parker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 1:00 – 3:00 at Peck Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery after the funeral service.

Mr. Owens was born in Decatur, AL, to Robert Lee and Dorothy Bell Owens. He graduated from Morgan County High School in Hartselle. He traveled as a welder with the Boiler Makers Union then joined the Plumbers and Steam Fitters. He married Mrs. Linda Owens in Tampa, FL, on July 9, 1965. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Nunn-Oden 398 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #3263.

Brooks loved golfing and held a membership at Deer Run Golf Course. He also loved to fish, was a major Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.

He was a very kind and giving man. Possessed great carpentry, welding, HVAC, and electrical skills. Had a green thumb and loved to grow his garden. You could always catch him in the evening out beside the fire pit.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Jesse Lee Owens.

He is survived by:

His wife of 59 years – Linda Owens

Son- David D. Owens (Lisa)

Daughter- Katherine L. Owens

Four grandchildren- Daniel Cartee, Blake Owens, Hollie Owens and Brandon Hopper

Six great grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Artie Winburn, Daniel Cartee, Blake Owens, Buddy Owens, Brandon Hopper and Gary Day
