Mr. Childers died on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born April 29, 1959, in Cullman County, to Birlen Childers and Virginia Gail Livingston Childers.
Benny Hugh Childers was a one of a kind man who lived life on his own terms. A hardworking chicken farmer, Benny began working with chickens as a child with his father and carried that same grit and determination throughout his life.
As stubborn as they come and a little bit of an outlaw, Benny had a humor and personality that made him unforgettable. He loved hunting, being outdoors, and spending time in the Smoky Mountains, where he found peace in the things he loved most. Above all, Benny was a wonderful father to Marty, Brent, Ethan, and Emma and a loving "Pops" to Adalynne, Weston, and Bailee. He was a hardworking man who took pride in the life he built. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, independence, and memories that will be cherished forever. Benny lived life his own way, never followed the crowd, and was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Survivors include his Mother - Gail Livingston Childers, Sons - Brent and Ethan Childers, Daughter - Emma Childers, Brother - Michael Childers (Teresa), Sisters - Judy Morgan, Patsy George (Leemon), and Carol South, and Grandchildren - Adalynne, Weston, and Bailee.
Preceding him in death were his father and a son- Marty Childers.
